What's new

What we have shipped, newest first. Laid out like the revision table on a drawing sheet: a revision number, the date it went live, and one line on what is different.

A change appears here once it is live for everyone, so anything on this page is something you can use today. Smaller fixes and behind-the-scenes work are left out.

KindArea97 changes

Week of 15 Sep

15 - 21 September 2026

  1. 97
    improvedReviews

Add project background that every check treats as fact

You can now enter project background in a box on the review pane and when you set up a project, placed at the top so it is clear it applies whichever way you start a review. Every check treats what you enter there as fact.

  2. 96
    improvedFiles

Large annotated exports run in the background and finish faster

Exporting annotated drawings no longer times out on large sets: the export now runs as a background job with live progress, defaults to just the marked-up sheets, and completes several times faster.

  3. 95
    fixedCodes

Code reviews refuse to substitute an unrelated code book

When your drawings name a code that has not been loaded, a code review no longer quietly reviews against an unrelated code from another place; it marks that code unavailable and says which book to add.

  4. 94
    fixedChat

Exporting an output chat just made now works

When chat creates an output and you export it in the same reply, the export now finds it instead of returning an error.

  5. 93
    improvedReviews

Running reviews show live progress instead of stalling

A running review now updates live with how long it has been queued, how many parts have finished, and an estimated finish time, instead of a card that stopped updating after 10 minutes. The completion notice now names any parts that failed instead of always reading as a clean pass.

  6. 92
    fixedCompare

New version comparisons show in the runs list right away

A freshly started Compare Versions run now appears in the runs list and shows as queued immediately, instead of staying hidden until it finished.

  7. 91
    fixedCodes

Code reviews stop wrongly refusing or mismatching code books

Running a code review no longer refuses a code book the project already holds, and no longer matches one of your code books to a different code. A code review that could not examine anything now shows an error you can retry instead of being reported as passed.

  8. 90
    improvedAccount

Clearer message when sign-in needs IT approval

When single sign-on needs your organisation's IT approval, you now see a clear message asking you to have IT approve access or use a sign-in link, instead of a generic authentication error.

  9. 89
    newProjects

Assign a new project to several teams at once

When you create a project you can now assign it to more than one team at once, instead of only a single team.

  10. 88
    improvedCompare

Comment closure results are easier to read and filter

The results list now shows each comment's number and text instead of an internal id, keeps them in number order, and lets you filter by typing comment numbers like 12, 10-20 or 3, 7, 10-12 alongside the verdict filters. Each comment is drawn as a box on its page in a colour matching its verdict, and clicking a box selects that comment's row.

  11. 87
    fixedViewer

Going back from a drawing view returns you to setup

Closing or stepping back from a drawing view could leave you stuck on the view instead of returning to the previous screen. Going back now reliably returns you to setup.

  12. 86
    fixedReviews

Check findings appear live without a page reload

When a check is running, its findings now appear as they are created, instead of only after a full page reload.

  13. 85
    fixedIssues

Issues from a running check now appear without a page reload

When you open a check while it is still running, newly found issues now show up as they are created instead of staying empty until you reload the page.

  14. 84
    fixedReviews

Rebuilding a checklist no longer produces duplicate findings

Rebuilding a saved checklist no longer causes its checks to run twice, so a single launch no longer produces duplicate findings.

Week of 8 Sep

8 - 14 September 2026

  1. 83
    improvedAccount

Your profile now explains your role and lists your teams

Your profile now spells out what your organisation role lets you do and lists the teams you belong to. Any team you lead is marked with a badge.

  2. 82
    newCodes

Know why a code book upload did not go live

When a code book you upload cannot be added automatically, you are now told what happened and why, instead of it silently disappearing.

  3. 81
    improvedFiles

Set a document's type while uploading, and see it on the file row

You can now choose a document's type as you upload it, and the chosen type is shown on the file's row.

  4. 80
    improvedChat

The assistant reports check-launch progress accurately

When you ask the assistant whether a check launch finished, it now reports how many checks are still queued, running or waiting for documents. It no longer implies every check ran when some are still pending.

  5. 79
    fixedReviews

The intake wizard's Ask step now starts a review

Asking a question in the intake wizard's Ask step now starts the review it promises, instead of leaving it un-started.

  6. 78
    fixedIssues

Assign menu no longer gets cut off in a narrow panel

When assigning issues or comments from a narrow panel, the assignee menu could be clipped so names were unreadable and you had to resize the window. It now stays fully on screen.

  7. 77
    fixedReviews

A check that fails to run no longer shows as a pass

A check that could not complete used to show a green pass in the results tally. It now reports as not run, so a failure is never mistaken for a clean result.

  8. 76
    newAccount

Get an email when a long-running task finishes

You now get an email when a task that runs longer than 10 minutes finishes or fails, including reviews, code reviews and comparisons. This is on by default, so you no longer need to keep the tab open.

  9. 75
    improvedIssues

Resolved and waived findings update on the drawing and clear from the list instantly

Resolved findings now turn green on the drawing and waived ones are removed from it, and each issue card shows who cleared it. Clearing a finding also removes it from the list immediately, with a simple undo instead of a countdown.

  10. 74
    fixedRevit

Saved takeoff workflows can be re-run from the tab

For Revit users, saved takeoff workflows now appear as chips under the toolbar, so you can click to re-run one or delete it. Previously a saved takeoff workflow could only be run by asking the chat for it by name.

  11. 73
    newChat

Ask project chat who did what on a project

Project chat can now answer who did what on a project, attributing launched checks, issue status changes, assignments and markups to the person who made them.

  12. 72
    fixedChat

Chat no longer fails a message after a brief connection problem

A chat message could sometimes end with an error after a brief network problem even though nothing was wrong. Chat now retries the connection and finishes the message.

  13. 71
    fixedCodes

Code books show processing while they load and update the review right away

A code book now shows as processing while it is being ingested, instead of reading as not on the project, and adopting a code updates the review immediately without a reload.

  14. 70
    improvedIssues

See teammates' issue changes without reloading

When two people work the same project, one person's issue assignments, status changes and comments now appear for the other right away instead of only after a full page reload.

  15. 69
    improvedCompare

Tighter, more accurate change boxes when comparing versions

When comparing two versions of a drawing, changed items are now boxed more precisely: each cited block gets its own tight rectangle instead of one large box, and more changes get a box at all.

  16. 68
    newReviews

The setup wizard now starts the review you asked for automatically

After you ask for a review in the project setup wizard, that review now starts on its own once your drawings finish processing, instead of leaving you to find and press the button yourself.

  17. 67
    newChat

Add or remove code books from project chat

You can now ask project chat to add a code book to a project or take one off, instead of switching to the codes panel to do it by hand.

  18. 66
    improvedViewer

Opening a project reopens the file you last had open

Opening a project now reopens the document you last viewed there, or the project's first drawing, instead of showing an empty viewer.

  19. 65
    newAccount

    Dark mode

You can now switch the app to a dark theme from the toggle in the top bar, and your choice is remembered. The document viewer, issue cards and other surfaces follow the theme.

  20. 64
    fixedCodes

Code library action buttons no longer overlap the title and sharing label

In the code library a book row's action buttons could paint over the book title and its sharing label. The buttons now stay in their own column and wrap rather than overlapping.

  21. 63
    fixedReviews

Checks that could not judge no longer show as a green pass

A check that reported not applicable or insufficient evidence used to draw a green tick and count as passed, and clicking it showed an empty list. It now shows a neutral result carrying the reason it could not judge.

Week of 18 Aug

18 - 24 August 2026

  1. 62
    fixedReviews

A custom check reports its state, however it ends

A run that stops early now says so in the review feed instead of leaving it looking as though the check was never started.

  2. 61
    improvedIssues

A tidier action row on every finding

The buttons under a finding are grouped into two tiers, so the ones you reach for most are the ones in front of you.

  3. 60
    fixedRevit

The pane and the web app hold separate sessions

Signing in to one no longer ends the other, so you can keep both open through a working day.

  4. 59
    improvedRevit

    A blank capture says so

When a view renders nothing, you are told the view came back empty rather than handed a mystery white image.

  5. 58
    improvedRevit

The pane shows you it is working

A running indicator during long operations, and a gentle reminder to save first. Long-running model code stops at a time limit instead of appearing to freeze.

  6. 57
    newRevit

    Release notes for the plugin

Each new release now has a page describing what changed, and the download page names the difference between a personal install and an IT-managed one.

Week of 11 Aug

11 - 17 August 2026

  1. 56
    newRevit

Sheet crops of the elements you ask about

Ask about a component in the pane and the answer includes the drawing it appears on, cropped to it, with annotations clipped to the view.

  2. 55
    newIntegrations

Open and edit Office documents in the browser

Specifications, schedules and reports open in place, without a download, edit and re-upload round trip.

  3. 54
    improvedRevit

The add-in version is always on screen

A version chip in the pane, so you and your IT team can see which build is running without opening anything.

  4. 53
    fixedFiles

    Accented filenames survive a download

A file whose name carries non-English characters keeps that name through every download and export instead of failing on the way out.

  5. 52
    fixedIssues

The assign menu opens beside the finding

It had been appearing away from the button you pressed.

  6. 51
    improvedChat

Images in a conversation open properly

A picture chat produced renders inline, enlarges when clicked, and is still there when you scroll back.

  7. 50
    improvedReviews

    The review panel, reorganised

Already run is a heading over the checks you have used, not a fourth door competing with the three ways in. The results drawer opens when you arrive and steps aside when you open something.

  8. 49
    fixedCodes

A code added after a run can be run

It had no way to be started without redoing the review. Starting a code review also queues the codes that are not ready yet.

  9. 48
    improvedCodes

    Adding codes, rebuilt

A source rail on one side and a basket on the other, so you gather books from anywhere and add them in one go. Uploads offer three destinations, and Re-detect says plainly what it did and when it failed.

  10. 47
    newRevit

The pane tells you when the add-in is out of date

A banner appears with a self-serve way to fix it, and it points IT-managed installs at the right installer rather than the per-user one.

  11. 46
    newCodes

Ask questions of the code library

A chat panel beside the library, which you can collapse when you want the full width.

  12. 45
    improvedCodes

    The code library, reorganised

Saved views replace the chip strip, the list filters by place with states nested under their country, and a book can govern more than one discipline. A steward can also un-share a book, and the Sharing column names whose decision each control is.

  13. 44
    fixedRevit

Signing in from inside the pane

Sign-in opens in your normal browser and returns you to the pane, instead of stalling on a login screen that could not complete.

  14. 43
    improvedIntegrations

    One ACC button, three directions

Get the latest drawings, publish findings back, or do both - chosen from a menu rather than guessed at. The publish dialog counts the findings it is about to send.

  15. 42
    newReviews

Download what a run started from

The original upload behind a checklist run can be fetched again from the project panel.

Week of 4 Aug

4 - 10 August 2026

  1. 41
    newReviews

Tell us what the review is for

A review intent template steers which checks get recommended, so a permit set and a coordination pass do not get the same list.

  2. 40
    newAccount

    Manage your team in bulk

Change role, status or business unit for several people at once. Every administrative change is recorded, and removing someone from a unit asks first.

  3. 39
    improvedRevit

The pane opens on your projects

Projects is the first thing you see when the pane opens, and chat moves into the side rail rather than taking the whole panel.

  4. 38
    newReviews

A Drawing Standards group, opening with tag quality

The first home for checks that judge how a set is drawn rather than what it specifies.

  5. 37
    improvedIssues

The check name filters the list in place

Pressing it narrows the issues in front of you instead of navigating you somewhere else.

  6. 36
    newIssues

    Every issue has a number

A stable number on each issue, so a finding can be named in an email or a meeting rather than described.

  7. 35
    improvedCodes

My codes, your organisation's, and everything else

The library splits into three views, uploading asks where the book should live, and a steward is a role someone holds rather than a setting.

  8. 34
    fixedIssues

Clearing a finding actually clears it

The action reported success while leaving the finding in place.

  9. 33
    improvedReviews

The organiser says when it is guessing

A drawing stage the organiser inferred rather than read is marked as a guess, so you know which ones to check.

  10. 32
    newReviews

Start a project with nothing in it

Skip straight to chat creates the project first and lets the drawings follow.

  11. 31
    newRevit

Start a project from the open model

A model with no drawings behind it yet can become a project directly from the pane.

  12. 30
    newReviews

Checks that compare one discipline against another

A check can now ask whether something drawn on one sheet is captured, positioned or dimensioned correctly on another.

  13. 29
    newIssues

Your verdict on a finding survives a re-run

Marking something as not an issue used to be lost the next time the check ran. The judgement now carries forward.

  14. 28
    newFiles

    Finder-style multi-select and batch move

Select a run of files the way you would in Finder and move them together.

  15. 27
    improvedReviews

Watch a check as it runs

The panel shows live progress and the check's own working text instead of a spinner.

  16. 26
    newChat

Chat can move and edit markups, not just draw them

Ask for a callout to be moved or reworded and it happens on the drawing, including issue overlay clouds and their connected text.

  17. 25
    fixedCompare

    Compare Versions marks both sheets

Differences are drawn on each side, and a comment thread that spans the two sheets is kept rather than dropped.

  18. 24
    improvedChat

Chat tabs say what they are doing

A status dot separates a conversation still working from one that has finished and not been read, and a new conversation appears in History straight away under a title written for it.

  19. 23
    improvedRevit

Connecting a model to a project, rebuilt

Home says which project the open model is already connected to, the connect screen recommends a likely match with the reason for it, and connecting takes you straight in.

Week of 28 Jul

28 July - 3 August 2026

  1. 22
    fixedIssues

    Resolve works on project-wide checks

Resolving a finding, or marking it as not an issue, now works on checks that look across a whole set as well as a single drawing.

  2. 21
    newViewer

Drag a placed markup to a new position

A markup in the wrong place no longer has to be deleted and drawn again.

  3. 20
    newViewer

Web pages render instead of showing their source

An .html file in a project opens as the page it is, however large the file.

  4. 19
    newBoards

Boards - a shared canvas in every project

Sketch, mark up and think out loud beside the drawings. Boards are files: create or upload one, work in it with colleagues live, drop images in, and keep templates on a private or shared shelf.

  5. 18
    newReviews

Coordination review for shop drawings, in one place

Submittal review results are gathered into a single view instead of one report per discipline.

  6. 17
    improvedAccount

Create project sits on the home page

It is offered beside Bluebeam and ACC rather than hidden a level in.

  7. 16
    improvedIntegrations

ACC import pickers are searchable and sorted

Finding a hub, project or folder in a large ACC account no longer means scrolling an unordered list.

  8. 15
    newReviews

Save a checklist and run it again

A checklist you have built can be saved and started on another project.

  9. 14
    improvedAccount

The projects home works in a narrow window

A drawer rail, a launcher and a pane switcher, so the home page stays usable docked beside Revit or half a screen wide.

  10. 13
    newAccount

A User Guide page of its own

Every tool, shown in a short clip, on a page you can send to someone rather than a menu you have to find.

  11. 12
    improvedViewer

A jump-to control on every piece of evidence

Each evidence crop carries a pill that takes you to that exact spot on the drawing.

  12. 11
    improvedViewer

DWG files open on the plotted sheet

The sheet as it plots is what you see first, with the model view a toggle away.

  13. 10
    newViewer

Every file in a project opens in place

Text, images, media and file types we do not recognise all get a real viewer instead of a download prompt.

  14. 9
    fixedCompare

Both drawings sit in the main workspace

A comparison now fills the stage instead of rendering off to one side of it.

  15. 8
    fixedFiles

Signing in to Bluebeam keeps you signed in here

Re-authenticating with Bluebeam was ending the Structured session alongside it.

  16. 7
    newRevit

Workflows and tags in the pane

Run a saved workflow, and read model tags, without leaving Revit.

  17. 6
    newReviews

Back to checklist, from any finding

A finding opened from a checklist keeps the way back to it.

  18. 5
    newReviews

    Comment closure

A review comment can be tracked from raised through to resolved, so nothing is closed without a recorded answer.

  19. 4
    newFiles

Drop a file onto a version stack

Filing a re-issue is a drag rather than a trip through a menu, and drops onto an open folder land where you aim them.

Week of 21 Jul

21 - 27 July 2026

  1. 3
    newRevit

    Takeoff in the plugin

Quantities grouped by room and space, concrete broken out by type, readable totals and select-all.

  2. 2
    newIntegrations

    Autodesk Construction Cloud connector

Pull a drawing set straight from ACC. The permission screen names the minimum access it needs, so IT can approve it in one pass.

  3. 1
    improvedRevit

    Managed installs update themselves

An IT-deployed plugin attempts its own update, so a whole team moves forward together.
