Compare Against Control

Some sets aren't compared against an earlier revision; they're compared against a reference: a prototype, a template, a firm standard set. Compare Against Control confirms the target set includes everything from the control, correctly.

Use case: confirm a store set includes every element from the prototype.

How it differs from Compare Versions​

  • Compare Versions asks "what changed between v1 and v2 of the same drawing?"
  • Compare Against Control asks "does the target include everything from the control, correctly?", a field-level verification, not a diff.

How it works​

  1. Open Compare Against Control from the tools rail.
  2. Pick the control (the reference or template set) and the target (the set being verified).
  3. The platform matches pages between the two sets, then verifies the target field by field against the control: required elements, values, and notes.
  4. Results come back per page pair, with each verified field marked present-and-correct, deviating, or missing, located on the sheet so you can confirm it in place.
