Organization members & invites
"Member" on this page means member of your organization - someone with a Structured AI account at your firm. That's a different thing from belonging to a business unit, which groups people within the organization; for that, see Unit hubs. The two meet in one place: the members table below, where an owner sets someone's units along with everything else.
Inviting someone
Invites are sent by org owners, from Settings → Members.
- Open Settings from your account menu, then Members under Organization.
- Click Invite, enter their work email, and send.
- They get an email invite. Signing in is passwordless via magic link, or through your organization's Microsoft sign-in if that's how your account is set up.
Pending invites are listed on the same page, and you can revoke one that went to the wrong address.
Owners can also invite from the members table on the Dashboard, which is the better door when you're adding several people and setting their roles and units at the same time.
Members don't have an invite button. Ask your org owner - it's a two-click job for them.
The members table
The Dashboard carries the full roster, and it's where an owner does the rest of the work:
- Role - owner, member, external collaborator, and library steward. See How access works.
- Business units - which units each person belongs to, and which of those they lead. Granting or revoking the lead role is an owner's job and lives here, not on the hub. See How access works.
- Disciplines - what each person works on. Worth being clear about: a discipline confers no access at all. It only decides which rows a default filter shows, so tagging someone Mechanical narrows a list for them and never locks anything.
- Per-person grants - individual capabilities, each on / off / inherit.
- Their projects - expand a row to see what someone owns, which is the fastest way to find out who has the job you're looking for.
The members table
Unit leads can also add and remove plain members from their own unit's hub - so day-to-day membership doesn't have to come back to an owner. Adding someone directly settles any pending request they had to join that unit.
Doing it to several people at once
Select rows and apply a change to all of them - useful when a new office joins and fifteen people need the same unit. Two things to know:
- A bulk action applies to at most 50 people at a time. The header checkbox selects the first 50 and tells you so, rather than silently truncating.
- The selection clears after every successful bulk action, so a second change can't quietly re-apply to a stale set.
Everyone shares some things
Everyone in your organization draws on the same:
- Code library - see Code Review
- Checklist library - see Checklists & custom checks
- Workflows - see Workflows
"Shares" doesn't mean "sees everything". Each of those libraries is private-by-default per person, and things become organization-wide by request and approval. See How access works.
Removing someone
Deactivating a member stops them signing in. It does not immediately end a session they already have open - that can stay valid for up to seven days. For a sensitive departure, tell us and we'll cut their live sessions too.
