Review intent

Before a review, there's a box asking what you're reviewing for. It's the highest-leverage thing on the page and the easiest to scroll past.

Where you'll see it

Two places, and it's the same box in both:

  • In the upload wizard, on the checks step, above "run all relevant checks".
  • In the Project QAQC panel, above the recommended checks.

Fill it in either place and it sticks to the project.

What to write

Plain language, the way you'd brief a colleague taking the set off you:

"50% CD review for a permit submission. Focus on life safety and egress - the client has been burned by plan-review comments on exit widths."

"Coordination pass only. Architectural against mechanical. Don't worry about spelling or title blocks."

"This is a prototype conformance job. What matters is whether the store set matches the standard."

Blank is a valid answer and it's the default. Leave it empty and you get the platform's own read of the set.

What it changes

Review intent steers which checks the platform recommends and runs. A coordination pass and a permit pre-screen are genuinely different reviews of the same drawings, and saying which one you're doing is the difference between a findings list you work through and one you filter.

It also affects the tone of the output - a review framed around plan-review risk produces findings written for that audience.

Templates

If your team runs the same kinds of review repeatedly, use Templates to fill the box from a saved brief. Once it's filled, the text is freely editable, and an edited template can be saved as a new one - which is how a team's real review types end up in the list rather than a guessed set.

With an intent recorded, the QA/QC panel shows recommended checks: the subset of your library that fits this set and this brief, rather than the whole catalogue.

You're never limited to them. Recommendations are a starting point at the top of the list; the full library is right below, and you can select anything.

The stale banner

Change your intent after a review has already run and the panel says so, because your recorded brief and your existing findings no longer match. Re-run to bring them back in line.
